The YAMOz
History
The YAMOz are an Iraqi
freedom rock band, formed in 2005. It
was founded by Yamour , Abdu , Mary ,
and Omar . The group got
its name from combining the first letter of each artist in the group, which were known collectively as The YAMOz .
Prior to the release of The YAMOz in
2006 debut album which
featured Yamour as the only official
member, Yamour recruited bassist Abdu and
drummer Mary, both
formerly of The Freedom
Fighters band , as well as fellow Omar as
guitarist to complete the lineup. The band began with performances in
Downtown Baghdad.
Target Market:
The target market of the YAMOz was the
teenagers who are interested in changing the world by spreading peace.
When Yamour first started
the band, its music was often about inspiring the youth to live in peace and
helping them to defeat the school bullying . The YAMOz also utilize the technique of shifting between
quiet verses and loud choruses, which Yamour said was influenced by the members of The
Freedom Fighters.
The YAMO’s goal is to spread peace in make people help
each other to build a good future for their countries by singing songs for
teenagers to be good citizen who are willing to cooperate in help the
community.
